What's a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture is like investing in a farm, with an interest payment in vegetables instead of dollars. Our members purchase a share of the coming season's produce and in doing so help distribute the risks and rewards of farming beyond the farmers themselves. In exchange, CSA members receive top priority among our vegetable customers, and also enjoy discounts on other farm products like eggs, honey, and canned goods.

Veggie shares

Our veggie shares provide a grocery bag of certified organic produce every week for about 18 weeks starting in June. We have 2 options for veggie shares:

  • Our large veggie program ($720) contains 7-14 lbs, or roughly 10-12 items. Large shares include a $2 discount on our canned goods, eggs, and honey.
  • Our medium veggie program ($460) contains 3-7 lbs, or roughly 5-6 items. Medium shares include a $1 discount on our canned goods and eggs.

Flower shares

We also offer shares in our 1/4 acre certified organic cutting garden. We grow oodles of flowers from April until fall frost, with a strong focus on early perennials. We grow varieties bred for color and scent first and holding time second, but because our flowers never had to board a plane to get to you, they still have a lot of days to shine. In our house (with no A/C), our bouquets last in the vase roughly a week without any extra care. If you change water daily, add flower food, or have a cooler room temperature, you can expect a longer vase life. We have 2 options for flower shares:

  • Our spring flower program ($150) (mid-April through mid-June) center on daffodils, bearded irises, peonies, and tulips. This is our favorite time of year for flowers and we really love sharing them.
  • Our summer flower program ($250) centers on sunflowers, snapdragons, and zinnias mid-June through mid-August, moving into dahlias, hydrangeas, ornamental grasses, and chrysanthemums as fall approaches. summer flowers are only available as an add-on for veggie shares.

Poultry shares

Our poultry program centers on our first livestock love -- waterfowl -- though other landlubbers are occasionally thrown into the mix. Our birds spend daylight on our certified organic pasture and are fed a mix of prepared feed, veggie scraps, and farm-raised insects (yes, you read that right). We have 3 options for poultry shares:

  • Our egg program ($275) provides weekly eggs from our flock of ducks and geese -- 1/2 dozens early, with dozens and goose egg 4-packs as laying picks up. The season starts in late February or early March and lasts until the end of summer. eggs are only available as an add-on for veggie shares.
  • Our holiday poultry program ($310) gives you a sampler of fresh birds for your festive table: duck in September, goose in October, turkey in November.
  • Our full-season poultry program ($540) supplies you with our full range of poultry from 4th of July until Thanksgiving: a goose, a turkey, two muscovy ducks, two chickens, and four mallard ducks.
