What's a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture is like investing in a farm, with an interest payment in vegetables instead of dollars. Our members purchase a share of the coming season's produce and in doing so help distribute the risks and rewards of farming beyond the farmers themselves. In exchange, CSA members receive top priority among our vegetable customers, and also enjoy discounts on other farm products like eggs, honey, and canned goods.

Veggie shares

Our veggie shares provide a box of certified organic produce every week for about 18 weeks starting in June and come in two sizes:

Some sample large shares from every month of last season:

Farming is, of course, dependent on the weather. The exact composition of each box is never something we can guarantee, and occasionally a variety or two falls through, but we always have had a good variety of fresh and healthy veggies each week.

Flower shares

You can also purchase shares in our 1/4 acre certified organic cutting garden. We offer three 8-week seasonal shares, each with a different focus.

In practice these seasons bleed into each other a little and in any given season you'll probably receive several dozen kinds of flowers in your bouquets! Regardless of season, each share is $100. For flower super fans, purchasing all three seasons gets you a $50 discount.

We grow varieties bred for color and scent first and holding time second, but because our flowers never had to board a plane to get to you, they still have a lot of days to shine. In our house (with no A/C), our bouquets last in the vase roughly a week without any extra care. If you change water daily, add flower food, or have a cooler room temperature, you should expect a longer vase life.

Reduced cost shares

In 2024, we are offering reduced cost shares through CT NOFA's Farm Share Program. If you're unsure whether you can afford joining our CSA this year, please fill out the form below -- this program will enable us to offer eligible community members at as much as 50% off.

If you don't need financial assistance in joining, and are in fact doing pretty well, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to the program. Donations allow us (and other farms) to offer further discounts.

Sign me up!

You can sign up for a 2024 CSA share using this form.

Pickups for both veggies and flowers are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm-7pm at our self-serve stand. We ask that members stick to a consistent pickup day so that we can plan for the best boxes. If you absolutely cannot make your normal day one week, we can try to shift but it is not guaranteed. We also cannot “double up” and give twice the veg the following week. Having a friend pick up for you is totally fine – just let us know!

We accept cash, check and Venmo for payment. If you need an installment plan, just let us know and we’ll work something out.
